Hey y’all! My name is Meredith and I am back in Austin after four (long) years away. I was raised in the woods of North Carolina, but somehow my siblings and I all landed here in Texas! Catch me on my brother’s renovated bus out in Lockhart, making mosaics with my art-teacher sister in Cherrywood, or encapsulating a placenta in my kitchen for newly postpartum clients.

My heart was set on becoming a doula as early as my first year of college in Washington, D.C. Advocacy, feminism, education and emotional support all rolled up into one job? …PLUS babies?! I had struck gold. I trained and certified as a full-spectrum, birth and postpartum doula with Doula Trainings International (DTI) and began my career in Los Angeles, where I spent four years becoming the doula I am today. Now that I’m back in Texas, I’m ready for all the curve balls babies can throw at us.

My philosophy as a doula is simple: non-judgmental support for the whole family as you navigate pregnancy, birth and postpartum. The experience of growing your family is completely unique to you and my job is to support the choices you make, educate you where you need more information, and help you build confidence in your new role as a parent. I will help facilitate conversations between you and your provider, make sure you are able to give full consent to all medical events, all the while protecting your peace and comfort throughout your journey. I will also likely fall in love with your squishy little babe and request updates and cheer them on as they grow and turn into toddlers and kids :)
